PHOENICIAN TERRACOTTA MODEL OF A MEDIUM-SIZED VESSEL CARRYING A DIVINITY - TL TESTED - Ca. 7th - 6th century BC A terracotta sculpture representing a typical Phoenician boat, highlighting the central role of navigation in this civilisation. The Phoenicians are recognised as the first great maritime people, establishing coastal cities equipped with strong harbours and defensive infrastructure. Their seafaring nature led to the development of a well-organised trade route extending from Egypt to Gibraltar and into the Atlantic. Size: L. 50 cm.
