ROMANO-EGYPTIAN RED STONE AMPHORISKOS - Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A red jasper amphoriskos with a slender neck, rounded body, and two delicate handles that curve from the rim to the shoulder. The vessel has a highly polished surface and carefully balanced proportions reveal the Egyptians’ mastery in stonework and their taste for luxury. Restored.
