CHINESE TANG DYNASTY GOLD FILIGREE DOUBLE SCABBARD - Ca. AD 600 - 700. A rare and opulent double scabbard comprising two cylindrical compartments joined by a flat, rectangular bridge and is lavishly decorated in delicate openwork filigree. The scrolling motifs - formed by tightly coiled and soldered gold wires - feature dense patterns of interlocking tendrils, vines, and stylised foliage. Size: 40-110mm x 10-105mm; Weight: 30g.
