ANCIENT CHINESE GOLD AND TURQUOISE GARMENT FITTING - Spring and Autumn Period, Ca. 770 - 481 BC. An intricate fitting featuring a dense design of stacked, stylised taotie or mythical animal arranged vertically in high relief. The surface is textured with fine scale-like tooling, and the eyes and decorative accents are inset with turquoise cabochons. Pierced openings suggest it was intended for attachment to a garment, belt, or ceremonial headdress. Size: 35mm x 30mm; Weight: 45g.
