Bidspirit auction | CHINESE JUN BOWL

CHINESE JUN BOWL - Yuan Dynasty, Ca. AD 1271-1368. A Jun bowl. The round bowl sits on a short splayed foot, covered in lavender-blue glaze with flambé splashes, with the foot unglazed, revealing the original clay body. Junware is a distinctive Chinese stoneware. The unpredictability of the glaze makes each piece unique, where the resulting colours vary depending on the firing process. For similar see: The Palace Museum, ?00106192.
