CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN EWER - Late Ming, Ca. 1600 - 1644 AD. A blue and white ewer. Its pear-shaped body rises from a flared foot to a tall, cylindrical neck with a flared rim, applied with a long curved spout and arched handle connected to the neck with a loop. Each side is painted in underglaze cobalt blue with chrysanthemum sprays enclosed in shaped panels, surrounded by scrolling foliage. The neck is encircled by a classic floral band below upright plantain leaves at the rim. Size: 210mm x 130mm; Weight: 610g. Provenance: Private UK collection.
