SET OF TWO NEPALESE TANGKA - Ca. AD 1800 - 2000. A set of two tangkas, comprising the first depicting the Bhavachakra, or Wheel of Life, illustrating the cycle of samsara in detailed iconography, framed in a teal and red silk brocade. The second portrays Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) seated in lotus position on a multicoloured lotus seat, backed by celestial motifs, bordered by a vibrant silk frame of lotus and auspicious symbols.
