TIBETAN BRONZE VAJRAPANI, DALI KINGDOM STYLE - Ca. AD 1800 - 2000. A bronze figure of Vajrapani, modelled in a dynamic posture with one foot planted and the other raised in mid-step, brandishing a vajra in his raised right hand. His fierce expression, bared fangs, and wide eyes are framed by a flaming coiffure crowned with a skull, while serpentine ornaments and a tiger-skin loincloth enhance the ferocity of the depiction.
