BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS WITH CENTRAL CABOCHON - Ca. AD 500 - 700. A gold cross with short flaring arms, each decorated with rows of applied granules. At the centre, a deep red cabochon is set within a high circular bezel framed by a beaded rim.
