MEROVINGIAN HIGH KARAT GOLD PENDANT WITH POLISHED GLASS CABOCHON - Ca. AD 400 - 600. A 22 kt gold pendant set with a polished oval glass cabochon of deep red tone, bordered by two concentric rows of beading. The setting is surmounted by a ribbed suspension loop applied to the upper edge. Reviewed by Sami Fortune, an ancient jewellery specialist.
