PALA-SENA HIGH KARAT GOLD MEDALLION OF DURGA - Ca. AD 800 - 1100. A repoussé 22.5 kt gold medallion with a raised border of punched beading, centring on a three-faced depiction of Durga. The central visage is frontal with large almond-shaped eyes beneath arched brows, flanked by two smaller profiles turned outward. The main figure wears an elaborate headdress with vertical elements and a beaded diadem. The lower section of the field is decorated with three rosettes and a beaded necklace.
