PRE-COLUMBIAN MAYAN CERAMIC EFFIGY STIRRUP-SPOUT VESSEL - Ca. AD 100 - 600. A ceramic effigy vessel modelled in the form of a human head with a prominent stirrup-shaped spout. The face is rounded with exaggerated features, including full cheeks, large almond-shaped eyes, arched brows, and a broad mouth with thin lips and visible teeth. The ears are pronounced, and the hair is rendered in relief with vertical ridges, terminating in a straight fringe above the brow.
