SAXON ERA GILT-BRONZE FITTING - Ca. AD 400 - 600. A bronze fitting of flaring trapezoidal form. The front face is decorated with a chip-carved motif composed of linear patterns arranged in a symmetrical, interlocking design and filled with gilding.
