EGYPTIAN PAINTED POTTERY JAR WITH HATORIC RELIEF - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A wheel-made pottery jar with a tall, upright body and a prominent lower section tapering to a rounded base, its profile articulated by a series of torus-like mouldings. The upper register is encircled by a frieze of applied relief figures, depicting five standing female figures alternating with four pairs of columns surmounted by Hathor heads. The reliefs are highlighted in red and blue pigments against a buff ground, with additional traces of colour on the moulded bands.Size: 450mm x 380mm; Weight: 10.8kgProvenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex.
