EGYPTIAN HIGH KARAT GOLD INLAY RING WITH GLASS INTAGLIO DEPICTING SEKHMET - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. An opaque red glass intaglio engraved with the standing figure of the lion-headed goddess Sekhmet, shown in profile holding an ankh in her right hand and a papyrus sceptre in her left, accompanied by a vertical column of hieroglyphs to the left. This rectangular intaglio is set into a broad, stepped bezel of a gold ring.
