EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARAB IN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING - Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. An Egyptian glazed steatite scarab, finely incised on the base with stylised hieroglyphs in green glaze, set into an oval high-karat gold swivel ring of rounded form; the hoop with flattened terminals linked to the scarab bezel. The stone showing areas of earthen and mineral accretion, the glaze with aged surface pitting.
