EGYPTIAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH STONE SCARAB - Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A mottled brown and grey stone scarab. The base is engraved with a symmetrical composition arranged in three horizontal registers: the upper register with two opposing falcons, the middle depicting a central scarab flanked by two seated baboons, and the lower register with two uraei. The scarab is pierced longitudinally and mounted in a gold ring with a plain, rounded hoop, coiled wire securing each shoulder. Studied by PD Dr. habil.
