ETRUSCAN MONTEFORTINO TYPE BRONZE HELMET WITH INSCRIPTION - Ca. 400 - 200 BC. A bronze helmet of the Montefortino type, featuring a domed bowl constructed from cast and hammered bronze. The apex is crowned with a protruding knob, intended for the attachment of a crest or plume. The rim is turned outward and flares gently at the front. It is further detailed with short incised linear strokes encircling its circumference.
