GANDHARAN STONE RELIEF OF TWO FEMALE ATTENDANTS - Ca. AD 300 - 400. A finely carved schist relief depicting two elegant standing female attendants. Each figure is dressed with bracelets and necklaces, their garments falling in rhythmic folds, showing Hellenistic influences. Their hair is styled in elaborate coiffures, both haloed, suggesting an elevated status. The figures stand in gentle contrapposto, their gestures conveying grace and vitality.
