TIBETAN BRONZE FIGURE OF GANESHA - Ca. 19th century AD or earlier. A bronze figure of Ganesha. The elephant-headed deity stands in a powerful posture, with four arms holding ritual objects, while one hand is raised in a gesture of blessing. Dressed with a tall crown, elaborate necklaces, armbands, and a finely incised dhoti with beaded hems, the figure reflects the syncretic role of Ganesha in the Himalayan Buddhist pantheon, where he was venerated both as a remover of obstacles and a guardian of tantric practices.Size: 290mm x 190mm; Weight: 1.9kgProvenance: From a professional UK collection of Asian and Himalayan art; previously with a London gallery, ex.
