JAVANESE BRONZE SHIVA - Ca. 12th century AD or earlier. A bronze figure of Shiva, cast and seated upon a circular lotus base. The deity wears an elaborate jata-mukuta crown and heavy jewellery, including a necklace, earrings, and armlets, with the sacred thread falling across the torso. His left hand is extended, while the right is raised before the chest.
