TIBETAN REPOUSSE OF KIRTIMUKHA - Ca. 19th century AD. A repousse panel depicting the fierce face of Kirtimukha, the ”Face of Glory, ” a protective motif commonly placed above temple doorways, ritual objects, and shrines in Himalayan art. The grotesque visage is finely detailed with bulging eyes, curling brows, flared nostrils, and fanged mouth, framed by foliate scrolls and stylised flame-like hair.
