TIBETAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A COW - Ca. AD 1800 - 2000. A finely cast and richly adorned bronze figure of a recumbent cow, most likely representing Nandi, the sacred bull and devoted mount (vahana) of the Hindu god Shiva. The figure rests serenely on an oval base, its body adorned with festoons of bells, beaded necklaces, and elaborate harnesses. The head is rendered with calm expression, crowned by a decorated headdress, with finely incised detailing throughout. Size: 410mm x 340mm; Weight: 9.79kg. Provenance: Private UK collection.
