JAVANESE BRONZE BODHISATTVA - Ca. 19th century AD or earlier. A finely cast bronze figure of a Bodhisattva, seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base supported by a square pedestal. The figure is richly adorned with a tall jata-mukuta, necklaces, and armlets, and is framed by a flaming aureole surmounted by a tiered chattra.Size: 210mm x 115mm; Weight: 1.34kgProvenance: From a professional UK collection of Asian and Himalayan art; previously with a London gallery, ex.
