NAYARIT LARGE SEATED FEMALE - Ca. 100 BC - 250 AD. A large reddish, orangeware pottery female figure seated on a two leg bench, holding both hands on her stomach. She bears small pointy breasts, noded shoulders and wears small ear ornaments. Finely striated hairdo, and having nicely rendered facial features. Size: 500mm x 240mm; Weight: 4.9kg Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the US art market; Ex. N.J. collection; Ex. Estate of Lois R. Frankel, Houston. Collected in the 1970s - 1980s.
