SICAN DECORATED BLACKWARE VESSEL - Ca. AD 800 - 1200. A blackware pottery vessel with a pair of long, tapering spouts set on opposing sides and joined by an arched bridge handle. The domed top is decorated in relief with a large open seashell motif, with radiating grooves and five conical protrusions along the edge, mirrored by five additional protrusions on the reverse side. Size: 150mm x 200mm; Weight: 490g Provenance: Private UK Collection; Ex. Jack Bregman collection, NYC. Acquired prior to 1969 while in the Peace Corps. By descent to current owner. Collection # 205.
