GROUP OF COPPER MANGBETU HAIRPINS - Ca. 19th - early 20th century AD. A group of three elongated Mangbetu hairpins, hammered in copper, each with a long tapering shaft surmounted by a central flared disc. The shafts end in facetted or pointed finials, with one example showing additional incised decoration.
