GROUP OF OCEANIC NECKLACES - Ca. 19th - 20th century AD. A group of three necklaces, each crafted from natural materials. One necklace is composed of numerous small animal teeth strung together, likely serving as both ornament and symbol of status, coming from the Marshall Islands. Another is finely woven from fibre cord, decorated with alternating shell and seed beads, demonstrating the maker’s skill in balancing strength with delicacy. The third features a striking combination of black beads and shell discs, arranged in a bold, rhythmic design.Size: 160-320mm x 5-15mm; Weight: 85gProvenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014.
