MEROVINGIAN OPENWORK HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH RED GARNET CABOCHONS - Ca. AD 800 - 1000. An openwork gold ring formed of a wide hoop formed of linked arches set between pronounced borders. The raised bezel is textured with dense filigree and set with four drop-shaped pink garnet cabochons positioned at the cardinal points around a central dark red cabochon.
