FRANKISH HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS WITH GREEN GLASS CABOCHONS AND MONOGRAM - Ca. AD 600 - 800. A gold cross composed of a central oval cell flanked by four symmetrically arranged teardrop-shaped arms, each set with a green glass cabochon. The reverse is decorated with incised leaf motifs radiating from the centre, with an engraved monogram within the oval field. Small gold globules are positioned between the arms, and each terminal is finished with an applied gold bead.
