SAXON ERA BRONZE BROOCH WITH RAVENS - Ca. AD 500 - 700. A cast bronze brooch in the form of a stylised cross, flaring at the terminals with incised geometric decoration and small knobs along the edge. The central bow is flanked by two opposed bird-head motifs rendered in profile, likely representing ravens. Below, the elongated foot tapers towards a flat terminal and is decorated with diagonal grooves and two further stylised bird-head finials. The reverse retains the catch plate and hinge.
