COMPLETE BYZANTINE BRONZE BELT WITH CROSSES - Ca. AD 900 - 1000. A complete bronze belt composed of nine interlinked openwork plaques, each centred with a cross formed by four lobed arms enclosed within a circular frame. The plaques are linked by small rings and riveted hinges. The fastening mechanism includes a loop-and-tongue buckle and an elongated strap-end. For similar see: A.
