BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH BANDED AGATE CABOCHON - Ca. AD 500 - 600. A gold ring with a broad, tapering hoop and a flat, rectangular bezel inset with a polished banded agate cabochon. The stone displays concentric layers of dark brown and translucent greyish-white, aligned diagonally across the surface.
