BYZANTINE GREEN STONE CABOCHON SET IN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING - Ca. AD 600. A green stone cabochon with a slightly domed, irregular surface held in a plain collet with raised edges, set in a possibly later gold ring with a rectangular bezel, a solid hoop of oval section tapering towards the back, and sharply angled shoulders linking the hoop to the bezel.
