EARLY BYZANTINE/MEROVINGIAN EARRINGS WITH RED GARNET CABOCHONS - Ca. AD 400 - 600. A matched pair of gold earrings with triangular pendants inlaid with garnet cabochons. Each earring is composed of a hinged triangular plate set with three garnets: a large central cabochon and two smaller ones at the lower corners. Three granulated loops are suspended from the bottom edge of each triangle.
