EGYPTIAN STONE HEAD OF A PHARAOH - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A finely carved stone head from a statue of a pharaoh, sculpted in the round with well-balanced facial proportions. The almond-shaped eyes sit beneath gently curving brows, the upper lids marked by a subtle ridge. The nose is straight and broad, with flared nostrils and a prominent bridge. The full lips are slightly parted, the upper forming a pronounced medial curve. The cheeks are flat, the jawline firm, and the chin square.
