EGYPTIAN BLUE FAIENCE BOWL WITH LOTUS FLOWERS - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A pale blue faience bowl with steeply angled walls rising from a circular base. The interior is decorated with a central bouquet of lotus stems with four open lotus blossoms alternating with four closed buds. Each flower is rendered in black with stippled sepals and long petals; a small duck motif is painted among the stems. The underside is painted with a radiating lotus bloom.
