EGYPTIAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH STEATITE SCARAB - Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A steatite scarab engraved on the flat underside with an interlaced geometric motif. The body of the scarab is finely modelled with marked clypeus, side notches, and incised detailing of the elytra and legs. It is set in a gold swivel mount with a plain elliptical rim, joined to a fine circular wire hoop with an angled profile.
