EGYPTIAN CALCITE JUBILEE VESSEL WITH CARTOUCHE SA-RA OF PEPI I - Old Kingdom, Ca. 2600 - 2240 BC. A cylindrical vessel carved from calcite, tapering towards a broad, flat base and finished with a thickened, rounded rim. One side bears a vertically oriented cartouche enclosing a hieroglyphic inscription signifying Sa-Ra of Pepi I. Cartouche possibly done later.For similar see: G. Ali.
