LARGE EGYPTIAN WOOD FIGURINE OF PTAH-SOKAR-OSIRIS - Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A wooden mummiform figure of a pharaoh carved in the round. The ears are set low, the face is framed by a close-fitting wig and a painted false beard, the eyes and jaw are outlined in dark pigment; across the chest, a broad collar is painted in concentric bands of red and dark tones. The shrouded body tapers to the base, and the reverse has an integral back pillar running from the neck down the back.For similar see: P. Giovetti, D.
