EGYPTIAN ROCK CRYSTAL AMULET OF A HIPPOPOTAMUS WITH HIGH KARAT GOLD SUSPENSION LOOP - Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A rock crystal amulet in the form of a hippopotamus, depicted with rounded haunches and short, sturdy limbs. The facial features are defined by incised lines indicating the eyes, nostrils, and ears. A pierced ridge along the back is fitted with a gold suspension loop.For similar see: C.
