COLLECTION OF COPTIC INSCRIBED FABRIC PIECES - Ca. AD 500 - 600. A rare assemblage of five textile fragments, each inscribed in black and red ink with lines of cursive script. The texts - likely liturgical or magical in nature - demonstrate the ritual use of inscribed textiles in late antique Egypt. The fragments show varying degrees of preservation, with some retaining clear rubrication and neat horizontal alignment.
