EGYPTIAN FAIENCE HARE OR IBEX AMULET - Ca. 1550 - 332 BC. A faience amulet in the form of a recumbent hare, with elongated ears lying flat along its back. The surface is detailed with incised lines indicating fur and musculature. A suspension loop is set along the back, allowing for attachment. The underside bears an engraved image of a similarly posed hare within a framing oval. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
