ANCIENT GREEK HIGH KARAT GOLD PENDANT WITH SUN MOTIF - Ca. 600 - 400 BC. A circular pendant of thin sheet gold, worked in repoussé and chased technique. The central omphalos is enclosed by a ring of punched dots, surrounded by eight alternating triangular rays and raised bosses. A second dotted border runs along the outer edge, enclosed by a plain raised frame. A folded tubular loop is attached at the top for suspension.
