ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING A ROOSTER AND A MOUSE IN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING - Ca. AD 1 - 100. A carnelian intaglio engraved with a scene showing a rooster in profile, grasping a mouse by the tail. The intaglio is set in a plain oval bezel with a bevelled rim, mounted in a gold ring with a broad, flat hoop that tapers gradually towards the back.
