MATCHED PAIR OF BYZANTINE GOLD AND PEARL EARRINGS - Ca. AD 600 - 700. A matched pair of gold earrings, each formed as a hoop of round-section wire with a short reel-shaped collar. Below hangs a granulated medallion made as a beaded circular ring crossed by two ribs to form a cross.
