BYZANTINE BRONZE ENKOLPION WITH CRUCIFIXION - Ca. AD 1000 - 1200 . A matched pair of bronze reliquary cross plates, each cast as a Latin cross with a hinge lug above and a clasp lug below. The faces are engraved in linear style: one with Christ crucified; the other with the Virgin Orans with nimbus and flanked by stars.
