BYZANTINE GOLD CROSS PENDANT WITH CENTRAL EMERALD - Ca. AD 1000 - 1200. A gold cross pendant with tubular arms of convex rectangular section, each ornamented along the face with longitudinal beaded ribs and finished with plain caps at the terminals. The junction is set with a circular plaque holding a green emerald cabochon in a closed setting, above rises a ribbed vertical suspension loop.
