SAXON/VIKING IRON GILT RING WITH RED GARNET CABOCHON - Ca. AD 600 - 700. A gold ring with a high disc-shaped bezel set with a red garnet cabochon. The bezel has straight vertical walls and a plain upper surface framing the centrally placed stone. A pair of applied gold globules decorates each side of the bezel.
