RARE VIKING SILVER-GILT MEDALLION WITH CENTRAL CABOCHON - Ca. AD 800 - 900. A circular medallion with a central field decorated with an interlaced motif, framed by a plain border and an outer ring incised with a repeating notched pattern. Three rounded bosses are arranged around the field, with a garnet cabochon set in the centre. A broad suspension loop is attached at the top.
